Radon levels are higher in spaces closer to the ground. It is not uncommon for high levels of radioactive gas on your first floor. Additionally, radon can be present in high amounts in basements and crawlspaces. As a result, you need to focus on these spaces to...
Radon is responsible for several lung cancer deaths in the US. It is the number one cause for lung cancer in people who don’t smoke, according to the EPA. The radioactive gas ranks second after smoking as the cause of lung cancer. Radon is present in most...
As per Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), radon is an invisible and odorless radioactive gas. It may lead to cancer due to the high level of exposure for a long time. This gas forms by the breakdown of the underground thorium and uranium. Radon then...
Our living conditions have a big impact on our health. You are more likely to fall ill if your home is humid, unhygienic, or contains radioactive gasses. Worst of all, you can develop serious diseases if you aren’t careful. Radon is one of the most...
When it comes to radon, there is no acceptable level. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has some recommendations. You need to fix your home if radon levels are above 4 picoCuries per litre of air (pCi/L). Do you live in an affected zone? Or is your house...
Radon is one gas that can cause a lot of damage because it is hard to detect. Certified professionals can only detect it. The mitigation process can also become cumbersome if radon remains undetected for long. It is even scarier that you can not detect radon in your...
Besides the radon pump and plumbing, Tommy did a great job installing a plastic membrane over our dirt crawlspace. The system lowered typical radon counts from 11 to 1, below 4 is considered healthy. The plastic membrane knocked down the humidity in the basement which helps an area prone to mold. He was on time, respectful and priced competitively.

Atlantic Radon recently installed a radon remediation system at our house. Our radon levels went from 4.5 to .8, so we are very happy with the results. I find the owner, Tom, to be highly knowledgable, professional and honest. Another company wanted to charge more than double to do unnecessary work. Tom took a step by step approach, meaning that if the initial radon remediation did not do the trick, he would then look into doing additional work like sealing the crawlspace. He also didn't try to upsell me on a sump pump, pointing out the reasons why it wasn't necessary at this time. If you go with this company, you can't go wrong!

I couldn't be more pleased with the radon mitigation services performed by Tommy Hughes, the owner of Atlantic Real Estate Services. He fully explained what he would do, came on time, did what he promised and left the work place clean. I highly recommend using his services.

Atlantic was nearly $200 less than another estimate I received for a radon fan installation (I already had a passive system in my house). Had an appointment within a few days of calling. Austin was our tech. Very professional and great to work with. Did a great job. System is working perfectly. Highly recommend.
